The 2012 Golf Camp was a dream come true! It verified that Warrior Golf Camps of America does help warriors suffering from PTSD, brain injuries, or other physical or mental injuries, while improving family dynamics through quality time on the golf course.
I will never forget seeing one warrior with his wife and two teenagers out on the golf course smiling and laughing. I also had the pleasure of playing an extra round with one of our two warriors on wheels, because four hours on the course “just wasn’t enough!” These great memories are motivation to keep growing this organization and raise the money needed to get more wheelchair accessible golf carts so our warriors can play as often as they want, and where they want.
I am so proud of this first group of warrior golfers, and of the friends, family, businesses and organizations that came together in such a short time to make the camp a success. To honor their sacrifices, I will make every effort to grow Warrior Golf Camps of America so we can help warriors in every state learn the therapeutic benefits of golf, and help their families rebuild the bonds that were stretched during deployments and hospital stays one golf game at a time.
